Any idea what year this was made?

[size=large]While water metal detecting the other day i found this cameo ring, i think it's silver, it has a marking inside looks like numbers, have a picture of the ring front , back, and marking.

Looks like Gopher found a key piece of info...Nice silver find and it DOES look old.

My guess it is from the late 1800's. It appears to be carved from a conch shell.....something that was easy to work with, readily available and very popular at the time. Do a search for Carnelian Conch Cameo Rings (Carnelian may be spelled wrong, too lazy to check <g>).
