I dug this in an Iowa yard about 7 inches deep with my Minelab Equinox. Appears to be cast out of brass. Appears to be curved with an indentation like it would slip into something.

Yes, it is neat! No idea what it is but looks like the tits and raised lines is used to secure and stabilize it on or in something. Wild guess.
