Found this in a local park - only about 50 feet from the main road. Can't quite make out the logo on it. I'm thinking it may be an emblem off a lawnmower?
It's painted copper whatever it is...

I'm wondering if its motercycle ("V twin" related). I looked for car emblems and there was nothing like it.
The V shape was almost always accompanied with an 8 over the top for V8.

It reminds me of a Navy rank Petty Officers 3rd Class except yours has Captain bars behind the eagle. I see perched Eagle over chevron with Captain bars behind the eagle and ribbon rainbow colored material behind the that, almost like it is part of a medal or trophy. I also thought it looked like something off of a vehicle.

Car emblem , you should be able to see something on the backside . It looks like it was mounted on the center of the hood and the wide V refers to a V8 . Not quite sure on the make yet . Try a Google Image search ... IMHO , Woodstock

The H is similar to the International Harvester logo....

And the wings are similar to the International Bc170 logo....

But I can't find any matches yet. It is probably off of an old car/truck or tractor.

I see a cast number and a quality control stamp or something on the back.

Yes, there is some sort of serial number on the back along with a manufacturer's stamp. (NAMOO)
I'll see if I can post a close-up of the back.

I'm leaning toward an emblem off a lawnmower because it is quite small for a car. Trying to think of some small engine companies that start with H... Husqvarna?

But it'd the right size for the front lower fenders on both sides isn't it ? And it doesn't have to be from a pickup truck , it possibly came off a car . And using the quarter as a size comparison it's three inches across . That might not be big enough for a hood "bow tie" but it's just the right size for the fenders . What appears to be a "H" either mean it was a Harvester (maybe a Scout , did they make a Scout II?) or maybe a Chevy , ever Fords used a similar badge design . I'm sticking with a Auto and not a lawnmower .... IMHO ,Woodstock
