Any Idea what kind of tag this might be?

I dug this tag some time ago and have no idea what it is. The material it is made from is copper and the initials on the tag are L.F. & I. co with the #56. The picture is taken next to my Swiss army knife for a size to compare it to. I would appreciate any thoughts to what it might be. thanks

I agree Ant. Try and find info on the company and you may find a possible age or other interesting facts.
