any ID Excel beach tips?

Eddie Currents

New member
I have used my Excel at the beach (S. Calif) and it worked pretty well though it was somewhat twitchy at times.

Any tips on beach hunting with the Excel? Should I GB it on the sand I'm searching (wet/dry) or just use FP settings?

Thanks,
EC

Eddie, I am hunting with the ID every weekend in Florida, dry sand run it wide open and dig all hits. I run my settings at 0 and +9, sometimes +10. Rings are going to come in at the pulltab tone. If you don't dig pull tabs you won't find any rings. I am digging targets as deep as 2ft. It will false close to the water so you need to back down on your settings. It is a great dry sand machine. Let us know what you find. Frank

I would use the FP mode you mentioned Eddie....We have loads of black sand up here so sometimes I even have to balance in dryer sand. Very hard to balance in wet sands in my area....HH, Bill
