Any help would really help {belt buckles}

Treasured Chest

New member
Hi everyone, Im looking for any help on finding a place on the internet that might provide pictures of old belt buckles.
I was hunting an old
school today and found what looks to be an old belt buckle, my guess is either brass or copper it has two faces on it one on each side of the buckle the faces look to have crowns on them and they have flowing hair. Also there looks to be writing on both sides but it dosent look to be English they are more like symbols {looks like a moon some triangles and backward 5's and alot I can't make out for sure}
Im pretty sure its old cause I had to dig up and remove a cobblestone to get to it.
I would really be greatful for any help
thanks

What part of the country do you live in? That is an awesome find and is old in my book.

Can you clean it with a toothbrush and some soapy water? Then take the pictures in some better lighting?

Hey
Just saw your post Burlbbark. I only cleaned it with a toothbrush and warm water. I'll give soap a try and see what I can do about the lighting maybe I'll try taking more pictures outside tomorrow. As for what part of the country I live in.. I live in Easton, Pa. {U.S.A}
Thanks for the suggestions. : )

I think these are the best pictures I'm going to get. You can see a little of the writing in the one.
