Any feedback from anyone using the NEL Sharpshooter coil?

As compared to the Coiltek Joey 5x10. I've never used a NEL coil, so I was hoping to hear from someone who has some time on the coil. Thanks.

I use it constantly. Only about an inch less coverage than the pro coil but seems to speed up the machine. Excellent separation , better than the SEF 6x8 in my opinion and just as deep ...cheaper too , with a 2 year warranty vs the SEF's 1. Very light but you have to make a conscious effort to slow down as it's very easy to swing too fast. TID seems to be little higher on high conductors in my dirt.
The only drawback is the heavy cord and large loops (cord is what failed on my 6x:geek: which make threading it through the shaft a real PITA. You definitely need to use a lower rod dedicated for the Sharpshooter. It makes collapsing the etrac difficult as the loops interfer with the shafts telescoping within one another.. I also use the NEL Hunter and the cord on it is not quite as bulky. I've never used the Coiltek so can't make a direct comparison there.

It's a great coil in heavy trash and mineralized ground.

What sprchng said.
I use my NEL SS coil periodically and found a lot of keepers with it.

Yes the the larger diameter coil wire can be a PITA to thread through the stem. However by twisting the stem into the coil in the right direction to reduce the coil wire's overall diameter all the while gently pushing the coil wire up the stem, its a breeze. For even easier threading, lightly coat the coil wire with silicon dielectric grease before starting although not necessary. Takes me no longer than a few minutes to thread it through the stem.

One thing i will say about the SS coil is it spoofs silver with seemingly good 2-ways for deeper corroded iron targets. Been fooled many a time.
Could be typical with smaller coils and deeper iron targets. Can't say for sure as this is my only small coil to go by.
