Any F75 folks have a Tejon??? Need Advice

I currently have a DFX for coin shooting but want a powerful relic hunter. I have good soil, low trashy, heavily hunted civil war sites to hit. Does the tejon get as deep as the F75 in good soil? Should I get rid of the DFX and just get the F75 for relics and coins? Any opinions from those familiar with these machines?

Of course I am a dealer so people will say I am biased. F-75 LTD or the T2 SE gets as deep or deeper that anything out there in the boost mode. Etracs are deep too but the are more geared toward coins. If I can help you out in any way let me know.

Thanks, thats what I need to know. I got some civil war sites in my area that I'm sure are pounded and want maximum depth to rehunt them. I hear great things about both machines.

My Tejon was a good deep machine, but it was almost too sensitive on very small objects. Digging birdshot pellets gets kinda old after a while. I much prefer my F75, at least as deep but not hitting tiny specks of foil hard like they're a button and the target seperation is way better for junky areas.

So you think your tejon was as deep as your F75 in good soil? Sounds like even more so if it picked up bird shot. I want hardcore deep as I'm digging everything at these sites.

For me when I think of hardcore deep the F75 in boost process or cache mode, I think the 1270 hangs in there with the f75 and then the 1266-x maybe. My pick for your kind of hunting would be the 1270, but they will all do the job and the F75 gives you a lot of options to hunt with.

A guy who hunts in my area said his 1270 was on par with his tejon but the 1270 was harder to run. I also have heard the 1270 was on par with the F75 so you see my dilemma. These have been excellent comments but I think I will go with my friends advice and keep the DFX for trash areas and buy a tejon for a fraction of the cost if its in the ballpark and it should be in my soils here. I will do the F75 next year. Thanks again for everyone's comments.

I totally agree with WV62.1270 if you can't do the price of the F75. I had to do that and I wasn't sorry 1270 goes deep and has a few diff. setup combos. Used it till my Mother-n-Law bought the LTD for my birthday.

What you want is a PI type detector.
A White's TDI, a Garrett Infinium, will get greater depth than any VLF detector.

I would check and see what the relic hunters in your area are using.

I ve never used the F75, but did get some time in on a 1270. very sensitive like the Tejon. Found myself turning the sensitivity way down to avoid alot of small bird shot and bits and pieces, but also dug some rather small good targets at almost unbelievable depths. 1270 and Tejon both have plenty of power to spare! I find my Tejon to be just as deep and sensitive as the 1270 and its easier to run smoothly. I ve read some people have trouble with the Tejon in mineralized soil. Ive been using a dd coil on mine and haven't had any such issues with the moderate to heavy mineralized soil i hunt in. Im sure you cant go wrong with any of the three mentioned.Ive had great luck with the 1270 and the Tejon. Cant comment on the F75, but Fisher makes great machines so id expect it to be good.

I have learned in the last 3 months of using the Fisher GBSE and the Tek G2 that in the old "Pounded" camps around me that I have hunted before, that the carpet of nails, with masking, is the next step to more finds instead of "Depth".............MO
