Found this button, but can't seem to find out any details, such as approximate date, was it military, value, etc... It says OHIO across the top and Waterbury Button Co. On the back. I have searched the Web, but can't find this exact button.

According to the "American Military Button Makers and Dealers; Their Backmarks and Dates" by William F. McGuinn and Bruce S. Bazelon your button dates between 1870-and 1900. I can't tell you what the front of the button means or stood for.

Thanks 2000nkb! That's exciting, I will be making a trip to the Library and researching the division that it represented. I have been detecting about 6 months and find mostly trash and Clad. I also found an Eagle Artileery button and these are my two fav finds.

Alberts Button book has it as an Ohio- State seal -staff button. Rariety Value 2.(perhaps common) The book doesn't give a scale for RV's.
