any budy in Tallahassee fl

Just getting back into it (waiting on a new coil, the one I have works, but is a little flaky).

Where do you go around Tallahassee?

John

Hi John I just got in to it I haven't found Any place to hunt yet. There aren't to Meany places to go that the city or state ones. I was hoping to find some one that knows some places to go. Ware do you you go?

City parks are OK, like Tom Brown. The state ones aren't unless you get permission from the ranger. I just spoke to a guy in Crawfordfordville who said that he's gotten permission from some of the rangers, but I don't know which ones. Forget the national forest.

I thought maybe some city parks - they're probably beaten to death, but its someplace. I'm checking with a friend about some private lands he might know. Otherwise, I'm not too sure. I'm originally from Long Island and am used to the beach. The ground is really hard here!

I'm waiting on a new coil - the one I have is a little flaky.

Hay john that sounds good how about panacea bridge alligator point may be find something good there. what do you think?

Might be - is there public access there? I was thinking about the St. Marks railway bike path (ripped up old train line made into a bike path) and Eleanor Phipps park (where they have Red Hills)

Yea there is A public area there right over the bridge on the right there is A road there. But the ST. marks bike path sound good to me do you you think we Need permission to hunt there?

Bad news - I just went online to check, and the trail is part of the Florida Office of Greenways and Trails. They have pages of rules, but rule #1 is no digging. I'll have to check a satellite map to see if maybe any schools or parks back up to the trail, then we wouldn't be on their property.

John

My be we should stick with panacea & st. marks what do yo think?

Any way I got to go I leaving work now see if you could find some places And I will post tomorrow.

OK - I work midnights, myself!

I'm still thinking Phipps park - before being a park, it was a plantation dating back to the early 1800's. Plus, there are a ton of people running around there for the Red Hills trials. But I'm going to check with a friend at work who knows a lot about local history and stuff and might know some good areas.

John

Finally some people in Tallahassee besides me that Metal Detect. David Harris dh@embarqmail.com (on Facebook) Phipps park sounds great when? 850-519 4644

I have been out and about for about a year now. My last hunt was 11pm to 8am on PC Beach. Always tough and and not always productive, but I find Gold or Silver every other time I head out.

I have hit almost every park in Tallahassee and found that at best I will find Clad and I have never found gold or silver in the parks. Tom Brown was good the first 6 or so times, but since then it has been scarce.

Let me know if your interested in a hunt or if you get permission and want to teem up. Also on Face book look for the "Tallahassee Metal Detecting Group"
