How much deeper the larger coil goes than the standard on the seahunter mk2.I'm more interested in the ground coverage than the depth,as long as it does'nt go too much deeper I may purchase one.

Not sure about how much depth you gain, but you still should be able to judge the depth by the signal strength.

Neil, as you already know the 8" mono is really great to pinpoint with. I have one for my Infinium, my larger coil being the 15"DD. I do a lot of mud hunting where the plug has to be cut as neat as possible. But as for beach hunting with a scoop not as necessary. Now the larger mono coil would help you cover more area plus somewhat deeper. Good to use where you expect Not to be so trashy. Another tool to use.
