Any body hear from chileheadplumber ? And the spider bite !

haha. The strange thing... the next day it was completely gone! It itched a spec, but all redness and all signs of a bite were completely gone! That was weird!!!
I think I have somewhat of a resistance to bites, being a mobile home plumbing specialist, I seem to get bit a lot. I appreciate all the concern though!
I will admit it had me concerned. It spread VERY fast, but went away faster than it came.

Those spiders give me the creeps... I don't think
I would like working under a house along side them.

Remember a while back when we were talking about
copperhead snakes... Well... A friend of mine that
I talk to on the radio lives up northwest of Houston
near Waller. But he's kinda out in the country.
Well, the other day his kid got bit by a copperhead
that has been lurking around in their yard. He said
that he was outside walking through the tall grass
with no shoes on, and the snake bit him on the foot.
He was in the hospital for about a week, but finally
got out. Said it was quite painful, and caused a lot
of swelling, etc.. Then a few days later, the same
snake was out next to the house, and acting all brave,
sitting up, and keeping his mouth open. The dog messed
with it, and the snake tried to bite the dog. He thinks
the dog got lucky and just got slightly nipped, as it
didn't seem to do much. Anyway, he's gotta kill the
snake... I haven't talked to him in a few days, so
don't know if he got him yet or not.. We were speculating
the snake might be a mother, and protecting young snakelets
somewhere near the house. And it is about the time of the
year for that I think according to what I read a while
back.

I saw the cutest little copperhead in a meter box 3 days ago. It was about 3" long. It wasnt any bigger than an earthworm, but it already had the fat squared head (indicating it was poisonous) and the little squares on its back. They say baby snakes are more dangerous than adults as they can't control how much poison they give you, so they just pump it all into you. I poked it with the meter key a few minutes but didnt have the heart to kill the lil baby. I showed it to the home owner and they didnt have the heart to kill it either, so we left it , all the while wondering where momma was.
They will be thinking about that when it bites them on the leg later. Fortunately they live a good 30 minutes away. If it was in my yard I'd have fed him to my Pacu. My pacu (fish) is about 14" long. Then again, maybe I wouldnt have. I'd hate for him to have gotten bit. Aquarium fish that size arent cheap. maybe I'd have just squished him. I have children at my house. He would have died!

Copperheads are upland moccasins and like their brother the cottonmouth they are very aggressive and have no fear of humans. Their bite is rarely fatal but you will feel like you're going to die. It's best to dispatch this critter as he ain't going to leave and nothing is going to scare him.

Yeah I've got regular snake loads for my 22 magnum and my 357. Works wonders on snakes out to about twenty feet.

Yeah you should have snuffed him before he gets big, mean, and ugly. When I was a kid a bunch of us were skinny dipping in a local creek and one of the kids with us dove into a swarm of baby cottonmouths. He was dead before they got him to the hospital. Venomous snakes of any kind ain't nothing to fool with.
