Any Arkansas/Mississippi beginner relic hunting spots?

I'm new to metal detecting and relic hunting and I was wondering if someone could give me some leads to some good spot to start out. Perferable in Southeast Arkansas or near Yazoo County, MS. I have tried to research Civil War records of battles in Monticello, AR and Lake Village, AR but really don't know where to start. I have a GPS so you can give me coordinates or just give me name and I'll look them up myself. Thanks for any help.
