I found This IODEX med container near Sharpsburg battle field this week.....and I have been try-n to get a date on it ,but, I have not been able to find any info online other than new products by Menley & James.
My guess would be from the 1940s or 1950s,BUT the funny thing is I hunted this site for 7 hours ,and found nothing but Civil War relics.....no modern items at all, except this. Ironicaly I found a New York Officers button in the same hole !! and this item is from NY...could this be from that time period?
Any help would be GREAT help.
Also, I was wondering if anyone lives in the Hagerstown,Maryland area & wanted to do some Hunting together...E-Mail me
Thanks
Metal Mike

Mike, I have found the exact same sample at an old Dr.'s house in SC. It dates to 1910 actually. It was an Iodine based salve. Good find and that aluminum sounds good when you go over it, doesn't it?
RickB(SC) Here's a link for you.
