Another Worked Out Park....

Went to a old 1800's picnic grounds today. This place has been worked by so many in the past, including myself. My first time back in almost 5 years and had some fun today. It is still in use as a rifle range/gun shoots/carnivals/rodeos do all piece of ground. I got $5.85 in clad and a couple little silvers here. I have found wheaties and indian heads here in the past, but no luck today. Had a rough time with pennies, alot of trash and bullets made it a tuff time. I finally just gave up on the pennies and only went for the high tones. I think I could use some help on working the trash because lead shot hits nicely in the 24-28 range on the ID. Oh well, here is a photo of the 1928 quarter and 1920 dime. I still love this "70" and it loves silver almost as much as me!! Good luck to all and happy hunting.

These coins are not that old, I like the pre-1900's, but still smiling just the same. If I could find one piece of silver every time, my life would be damn near perfect. I guess my point is no place is ever worked out. Don't give up if it is an older site. I worked around the edge of the area next to the tree line. Two swings wide this time, until I hit the first dime...then I spent some time in that area and came up with the quarter. Both were about 7" deep and I still had the 10.5 dd coil on which is not the best in trash. Next time I think the parking area will be nice, the farthest spot away, which is still grass to this day. Maybe the road ditches being there is always a few country boys that like the ditch out front...LOL. These X-Terra's are great machines without a doubt, but you have to get them over a coin to work. Location, location, and a little luck!

Finding a Standing Liberty Quarter with the full date is a rare find in my neck of the woods. Congrats! Nice stuff! HH Randy

Hi ed, That is a JACKPOT FIND of a STANDING LIBERTY!! That find should be Worth QUITE A FEW BUCKS!! HH, Les

Anytime you get a date on an SL Quarter, it's a plus. Nice Merc too. Ron

I just like share my silver with everyone and let them know it is still out there and 70 is a wonderful machine. I have learned so much from all you and still have a long ways to go yet. But you know what, I have fun and get out for a few hours every weekend no matter what. I got a heck of a clad box going but will have to see what is in later. Cash in time at the end of the season! I really enjoy seeing everyones finds on here and stories. I hope this motivates us all to get out and enjoy this great hobby. So relaxing, peaceful and keeps me out of trouble for sure. And it is one of the few hobbies that pays us back for the time. Just have fun and good luck
