Had a couple hours before dark after working in the yard all day. (great weather) So i went to the nearby 30's site. I have the new 6" DD coil so was hoping to find something even though i've hunted the place over and over. Not much luck, right off. Kept finding things like tiny scraps of zinc jar lids about an eighth inch long. Then i found a brass button that was coin shaped and sized, so i saw the eagle and thought i'd found a great coin. Then i felt the back had a ridge around it. Got a 38-40 reading and dug a shovelful and it was a junk hole with nails and glass shards. Spread that dirt out to try find the coin reading but it disappeared, but there was a couple marbles in the shovelful. So i kept digging forward about couple of feet, another marble and then the penny dropped down from the shovel. I don't think i found the penny because of the detector, it was too far away from the original signal. Will go back and sort through that area again when i'm not so tired. Anyway, thought i'd post to show the pic, but sorry about the wheat penny not showing up. You all know what they look like, LOL. The Lincoln side looks pretty good. Thanks for looking.
