Another way of utilizing an old artifact....

This was an 1800's bottle, I think it was some sort of wine or possibly medicine....bitterquelle...not sure, but I took it to work and cut off the top and polished the edge and now I use it to drink out of. I soaked it in bleach first of course!

Very interesting. I guess that's one way to utilize it. I bet they didn't even think about using it as a glass in the 1800s.

Neat glass Dave,, back in the late 40's or early 50's, we had some made out of qt. beer bottles,,,
my Dad made them,, and I have no idea how he did it...
the cut was smooth and looked like it was beveled on a grinder....
do you have any idea of how they could have been made back then ???

Interesting. No don't know, but for mine I used a diamond saw (with water coolant).....maybe that's what they did too?

its not easy,, we did it in a camp fire,, I tried a torch,, the temp has to be so so and cool down can be a problem..
