Hey everyone,
I've been PMing with James of ND for the last couple of days. He told me where he was headed for detecting today but I decided to pass and indulge another hobby- windsurfing. Don't get many days of winds in the 20+ MPH so when it does really need to take advantage of it. Tomorrow is also supposed to be windy. I ended up spending much of the day helping a resort owner rebuild his dock because of high water conditions. Did get out sailing towards evening and it made it all good.
The fact I passed probably means that James will post some killer finds tonight.
Went back to the cabin site where I found the 1892-O half and started putzing around. Sprayed myself up good with bug spray and it actually worked. Usually don't like the stuff cause I'm a sweater and runs off and gets in my eyes. Might be able to do more detecting evenings.
Nothing spectacular but did get what I thought was a shallow clad quarter signal. Surprised to see big silver 1936-D Walker. Also got a very worn 1902-O dime. And again always amazed at how variable shotgun and other brass can hit, even the same caliber/headstamp. Guess they must not regulate the alloys very closely.
I think I have more silver halves this year than quarters. Don't think that will last the season.
