Another V3 "i" question... Anne...?? (hint hint)

How many of you are hunting in 3 frequencies and how many are hnting in one frequency. I have noticed some people making good finds and getting good depth in 7.5 single and I have found it to be good BUT... (and I have no logical reason for this) I feel like since those three frequencies are available and those three bars and three humps and three colors look so good... well, even though I sometimes get better performance in single 7.5, it bothers me to use it instead of three frequency... I know that makes no sense but it still bothers me.

I really wish there was a way to hunt with the main screen in single frequency, keep analize in three frequency, and pinpoint in single frequency non-normalized. I know I can push a few buttons and get there quickly but quickly becomes a lot of time if you do it over and over. If I could toggle to three different settings like that this machine would be better IMO... just saying... it just seems like the flexability to do something like that would be killer!

Hardware limitations. 3 frequency has the power spread out and the single frequency all the power is on that one frequency. But the ground balance point for single frequency is different than with the 3 frequency because of the power differences between the 2 modes.

Thanks and I know you can do a workaround! Cool! Just a few new lines of code and we are there... right? I knew you could do it!!

laff...

Thanks Anne,

It sure is good to see your Avatar, Anne. I miss your great and informative posts. Rob

Jbow.....Your response .......Have I missed some thing cryptic in Anne's reply?

All she told you was "hardware limitations', and the basic facts of power sharing when using 'pulse methodology' for multi frequency transmission, plus GB factors.

As far as I could read, there was no suggestion of a 'work-around'...... Maybe I've missed a posting?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your idea of single frequency searching, and 3 frequency analysis.....say, when you pin-point.....is a good suggestion.
Possible????.....Of cause it is.........Whites software / designers.........Please take the idea on board, but don't wait until xmas 2012.!!!!!!
No, I was being silly.
I hope they get it done, it would be a great addition to the "V" I think.
I think the long tailed answer might have to do with the fact that when a different frequency is chosen, a manual ground balance should be performed each time. The hardware limitations must have to do with that fact.
As for my detecting frequency choice, that depends on many different factors such as the ground conditions, etc. Without a doubt I can tell you that I get more depth from Single Frequency than from Best Data. I like 7.5 KHz because the mid range targets such as buttons and low conductivity coins such as Indian Heads and small silver Spanish colonial coins ring out very nicely. Sometimes, however, EMI can be reduced by using the 2.5 KHz frequency.
In my bench testing I have found that in 22.5 KHz the V3 is much more responsive to small gold (such as thin gold chains, charms and small earrings) than any other frequency settings, including Best Data. If you are looking for gold jewelry that is without a doubt the frequency to use.
That is a good idea but it would probably cost you another $125 to upgrade.
I can get deal on both for $250.00 !!! Cool...
Julien
Anne said it would not be an easy solution. At $125 you would have the choice of getting it or not. The same choice you had of upgrading to the V3i or not. Why complain about something no one is forcing you to do, if it was available and its not.. Giving a person a hard time tends to make them feel what's the use of posting. She gave her honest answer. What's the need for the flack.
I'm happy with my V3i. If you aren't happy with yours then get a detector that would make you happy. This just my opinion. Rob
What are you talking about... I made a joke.... about instead of paying 125 for the upgrade and 125 for something else (that is not available) I might be able to buy them together for 250. Duh...
I have no idea what complaining you are referring to... are you serious?
I have not complained about a thing and I love my V3 and plan on upgrading it. It has taken me a some time to understand it but where did I complain? In fact I posted that I was being "silly" in my response to Anne. Sorry if joking around offends you.
???????????????
J
J, read the whole post. I wasn't referring to you. I don't think Shrecky was joking. I just get mad when we get an honest answer and people make snide remarks. I think I know when people are joking. Rob
Ah, I thought you were referring to me since you responded to my post in the thread... sorry. In any case... if it were something that was easy and was available I would be happy to pay 125 bucks for it.. I don't expect a free lunch and am very happy that White's chose to offer a 125 dollar upgrade instead of a whole new detector like the V3 Pro or something for 1500 bucks. What White's did with this upgrade was and is awesome in my opinion...
Julien
My feelings exactly Julian.
