Another trip to my muck hole puts the ATP to work

Finds from yesterday - another Wednesday and another little piece of bling. I do mean little, at 1/2 pennyweight - approx .7 gram, (point seven) tiny. Back to the same mud hole I've been hammering for months. I get surprised by the odd stuff that turns up there. I know this lake will be restored soon. There's a pic of a berm that has post driven into it that used to support the trolley that crossed the lake to bring visitors to a summer resort. This time a vintage Westmore compact, small lead / pistol ball, an eagle final and a few other keepers surfaced.
This little 14K ring has a real diamond. Although small stones don't have any value it's still fun to use my GemOro diamond tester. Ya gotta appreciate a wife who knows exactly what to get ya for yer birthday!
I missed checking the forum for a few days and man there's some good stuff to catch up to here. I hope everyone is having a productive spring detecting season.

Great finds in an amazing spot! So you can imagine that all sorts of people walked across on that trolly track, jumped off to swim or fish huh?
That sure was a once in a lifetime event when that lake was drained...all that stuff kept safe for all those years until you cam along!:clapping:

That is cool as heck! The lake where I live and detect at, is at an all time low. Tons of places I want to check, but never get the time.
What state are you in, if you don't mind me asking?

That's a pretty sweet ring, Bruce! It looks like it's from the Art Deco era? Cool eagle finial, too!

You keep on posting these unique finds, I'll be moving back!
Noting but a 1926 woman's band lately.
Lonely on the Cape...come on out when the lake fills up.
The lake would have been GREAT when the trolley was running.
I only made in the water there once...lots of pennies - missed the good targets
Keep on digging and enjoying.

Nice finds and a nice fun area.

I'm in CT. There a couple of similar places to go where the water is lowered seasonally. This one is different because the dam is being replaced so the window of opportunity is greater.

We are going to get up to cape soon (and often) but won't plan the exact dates until we get back from attending Americade at Lake George. Sure wish taking my water hunting gear on the motorcycle was practical but I'd miss the whole rally! We've got a sweet spot in the lake to stay at I would love to hunt. Last time I detected Lake George I got a nice gold band in short order. This week is dedicated to test riding the latest motorcycles and showing my wife a good time.

It's a hard place to detect even drained. There's a fair bit of history surrounding that lake. Last year I got nice seated quarter.

That's one nice looking gold/diamond ring. The fact that it is a muckhole, is probably keeping others away. Their loss...your gain!
