Monte said it all in a nutshell:thumbup: As an MXT user, I've found that a penny signal at 0 inches always yields an aluminum soda/beer can as deep as 12 inches, especially in wet sand. Hope this helps you a bit:) I've been detecting since 1970, started with a White's Coinmaster IV (no discrimination whatsoever),,,the MXT was easy to learn, as I was very used to the manual controls. The Eclipse 5.3 is a great all-around coil and well worth the money. Good luck to you on your next ventures:)
