Another three hours in a park

Sailorman

New member
Wandered of into a park today for three hours. Running the AT-Pro with my favorite 5x8. Hit places that had seen several outdoor weddings and a festival recently and picked up a few coins and trash. Took my wife out to an area that has lots of water birds so she could try to get some pictures. Was just wandering along under a smallish tree and pulled about half this lot in a four foot circular area on one side of the tree. Not another target in the whole area! You just never know...

All the nickels rang in as double beeps with a slightly higher than normal number. Sometimes ya have to dig those pull tab signals!

I like to Wander and Wonder:thumbup: Sometimes I wonder if I had'nt wandered over there. Looks like your simply enjoying life with your metal detectors Sailorman

Looks like your numbers just came through! Congrats!! I always wonder why my best find is always either the first or last dig of the day...

Thats a very nice haul Sailorman. Wonder why the targets were only in that particular spot in that area? your right...you just never know. I would like to know if I will ever find a big hand full of gold coins

Nice pile of loot! Out of curiousity, when you got the double beeps, how deep were the coins? I know from my experience when I get a double beep, I can tell the signal is very shallow or even laying on top of the ground.

Most of the finds were 3" or less. I know what you mean about getting double taps on shallow coins. Especially on limestone parking lots, nothing sinks very far there!

Usually once they're 2" or so a double means a pull tab or ring for me although I have vastly more experience with pull tabs :pulltab:. Those old ring style are the worst. We were in pretty moist soil so maybe that helped make them look that way?
