Another spoon question

I spent part of the morning going over some of my earlier finds from back in the day. These are four spoons that for one reason or the other I took a fancy to and held on to them. All came from the same site that had activity from about 1850 until 1920. Starting from the left, #1, is marked on the back *nickel silver*, #2 is marked sterling silver, #3 is marked *1847 Rogers Bros A1* and had been silver plated.

My question is about #4.....for such a plain looking spoon it's marked on the back *Prussian -S- Silver*. At first I thought it was just another name for "nickle silver" but after a Google search I'm more confused than ever. Is it is truly made of silver and if so why use silver to make such a plain looking spoon?

Any comments would be welcome. but still :detecting:

Pictures???

Hmmm??:look:.......... Well, Duh!

Its silver plated , Might be Deykin and sons some of it was marked prussian silver.

Ad is from 1876.

Thanks Taz for you help!

HuntinDogs idea of posting a picture....man what was I thinking.

The six's *Makers mark* down, on the left in the below linked page looks very similar and perhaps appropriate for a plated spoon marked *Silver*.:poke:

Knarfj,
Sorry I don't know anything about spoon or silver marks for that matter.
I just like/wanted to see what it was that you had found.
cool spoons...

Don't be sorry, I'm glad you pointed the missing images. Lately my decent keeper finds have been really scarce, hence the spoon question.

Take care and HH
