Slipped out today with a strong, cold bitter north wind and a couple of harmless snow flakes. Got another silver dime and a cool (broken) Davy Crocket Ring.

the flashing detectors, not your detecting. If you detect that fast, you just might miss the Dale Evans ring next outing.

A caribou last time a sailing ship this time. I hope you have room for all those neat treasures...

I listened to the song, it brought back many memories of the good old days. That got me thinking or Roy and Dale. SO...

A History lesson on Dale:
Dale Evans, was recognized as the 'Queen of the West.' She was an American leading lady of musical westerns of the 1940s. Born Frances Octavia Smith in Uvalde, Texas. She was raised in Texas and Arkansas. Married at 14 and a mother at 15, she was divorced at 17 (some sources say widowed).

Although Dale Evans' marriage to Roy Rogers her fourth marriage and his third marriage, they broke the serial marriage cycle with a successful marriage that lasted fifty-one years.

On 7/14/2010: Trigger (1934-1965), Bullet, and other memorabilia from the collection of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans was auctioned off by Christie's. Trigger sold for $266,500 and Bullet sold for $35,000.

I'd love to find one of Bullet's dog tags...

Your link is great, so many memories...Happy Trails to You

They lived in Applevalley. Roy spent a lot of time in Victorville at a little bar called the Phantom in, the bar was named after a plan that the owner flew at the near by George Air Force Base. Anyhow, I had the honor of having a beer with Roy there.

Nice on the silver.

It's funny how some posts date some of the metal detector users. I too watched Roy Rogers, Lawman, Gunsmoke, Bonanza among many others.

Nice finds, John. Davy Crockett was one of my heroes as well as Roy, Dale, Trigger & Bullett. I thought it was neat watching a cowboy who named his horse and dog after gun parts. I liked Yukon King on Sargeant Preston, Canadian Mounted Police. My two dogs get mighty upset when I watch those shows with Bullet & Yukon King. We had a better country when there were westerns on tv every night and day and Tarzan movies. We were encouraged to be good little boys and girls or have our heroes be disappointed in us.

I recall that when I was in the first or second grade some of us boys would argue about who would win in a fight between Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey/ I was mostly inthe Gene Autrey camp. Sigh....
