Another short hunt on the beach

My Grand son and I hit the beach again in the area of an old lumber mill not far from home. Again we came up short on the coins but he was tickled pink when came up with the blade-less pocket knife. From the handle shape it looks to have been an early two bladed trapper model. I did manage to find another of my favorite finds, an early ornate suspender slide to add to my collection. It has the oldest patent date I've come up with so far.

Another great day! HH

Very nice indeed! I am especially fond of the suspender part - I've never found one that looked that good!

Thanks for the positive comments.:) Yep, I am fortunate that my Grandsons are as enthusiastic about detecting as I am. This last time out I took the oldest. He will be going into the service this May so for now he usually pulls rank on his younger brother when we go out. I know, take them both! Sure, two detectors and three kids! Uh-huh! :help:
