Went out searching an indian campsite yesterday with the Vaq. Found a nice civil war era Dragoon button, the side plate to a flint lock rifle, musket ball, pieces of a copper kettle and various other items. What surprised me was a mercury dime. This is a farm field that has been farmed for around a hundred yrs. so I occasionally find a coin but it got me to thinking how common mercury dimes are. Over the years I find mercs. at a 3 to 1 ratio over roseys. Any one else notice this. By far the most common silver coin I find. I would have a lot rather had another dragoon button but it's definately better than an old rusty nail !
