another question on coils

Recently purchased the XTERRA 705 and finally started trying to learn it when I originally posted about purchasing it I stated it came with three 18.75 kHz coils well it came with two 18.75 kHz and the 9 inch concentric Is acttualy the 7.5 kHz
My question is there a way to repair one of the tabs the bolt goes through to hold on the shaft one of the tabs is broke off on the 7.5 kHz
The other two coils are like brand new they look like they have never been used
I really want to try the 7.5 kHz

Take a look at these threads on the subject.

Hi,
I just wanted to say that the people at Minelab will most likely take very good care of you. I just had the same thing happen to me last week. I also just broke the ear off of my 9 inch 7.5 kHz concentric coil. I called Minelab Customer Service and they told me they were sorry to hear that the coil failed and not to worry they would replace it. They gave me a RMA number and asked me to please mail the coil back to them for a replacement. A week later they called me and said that they received the coil and that they would be sending a replacement out right away. That is Minelab Customer Service for you! So I recommend that you just give them a call, its that easy! Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I am an American living in Germany and they don't have any problem taking the extra step and mailing the replacement coil to me here!

I did call MINELAB and they said it was out of warranty so I fixed it here is some pics of my repair
Used a battery hold down bracket and some stuff I picked up at auto zone called plastic welder
And I will say the stuff seems to work

And at least its allowing me to try the 7.5 kHz coil out

 Form follows function. As long as it works, that's all that matters.
