do regular nimh rechargeable aa cells work in the alkaline pak? (this is for the explorer, not the sov.) i think i've read that they do, but don't want to spend the $$ for them if they won't work. thanks again & hh.

Yes they work, and if you get the 1700 mah or higher they will give you an hour or more time as well

That is what is in the Minelab rechargeable packs for the Explorer, 8 of the nimh rechargeables. The only thing you need is a charger to charge the batterys as the Minelab one will not work on the alkiline pack, I have the Sunray one that will charge it and also charge the Minelab pack too. If you have a Sunray charger all you need is the Explorer cradle to charge the Explorer pack.
