Another one off the bucket list- Seated Half, in Minnesota no less

Hello all,

Between work and bone-dry conditions in southern Wisconsin I've only been out detecting three times this year. I cruised up to Minnesota for a couple weeks R&R last Saturday. Found out the carp (bowfishing- watching your arrow in a thirty pound carp take off across the swamp is a thrill) are done spawning and the sunnies about finished. The lawn can be mowed another day. Decided to go detecting.

I drove to a few neighboring towns and looked for parks. If I saw anyone out enjoying the day I asked for permission to do their yards. Got a pretty nice silver sound at one house and dug down 6-7 inches and brought up a big shiny disk. Everyone reading this knows the thrill of seeing big silver, but I was definitely surprised when I gave it a quick swipe and saw Mrs. Seated Liberty. First seated half dollar I've ever found. 1858 which is the same year Minnesota became a state. Too Cool.

A couple of IHs and a 1913 type I buffalo nickel in decent shape.

Hopefully get out again.

Wow Chris. Congrats.. I've been in a little slump lately...too dry..but I had a good year so far..its even hard to find a yard around me that ain't been done.. I guess a seated half is on my bucket list , now that I got that Morgan dollar ..lol..congrats again
