Another Old Homestead - More Interesting Relics...

Erik in NJ

New member
Found my first silver dollar yesterday at this site, but it was a fairly young one at 1966, but Canadian, which was an odd find here in NJ. That was followed by an 1869 IH cent, so this place has a little history. Here are some of the more interesting relics. Any ideas on the age of the lock? Notice the one dimple in crescent on one side and two on the other - what's that all about? The lead horse is very detailed and the legs are extremely fine which gives it an elegant appearance (dimensions are ca 1-1/2" x 2"). The leaf/fleur fragment is thin and I'm not sure what it broke off of (small fragment - 3/4" tall). Tough site to detect - lots of iron in places, but I'm convinced there's more good stuff that needs to be worked for. Thanks for any info on these lovely relics!
