Another Midnight Hunt

It never did cool down. 77 at just after Midnight and still humid. I figured a quick hour at the high school might get me some loot dropped after graduation. They had the area where they held the ceremony locked up so I went to an old standby area around the backstops. One hour turned into two as I thought it might. I got my first ever pair of earrings. Snowflakes and they were down about 2 inches. They were about 3 inches apart with a mess of change too. Not the easiest retrieval in the dark. I just tested the posts for gold and they're solid 18k. A whopping .18g each for a total of .36g of 18k gold. $8.05 FYI. 1958D wheat which I damaged with my Lesche. No harm done except to my pride. Look at that tiny little circle by the wheat. The old 2500 sounded off like a siren and I thought I really had something. Looks like a tiny letter "O" off of something. I forgot to test it for gold. Next time I fire up the Mizar I will.

My calendar is full until next Sunday so the most I can hope for is to sneak in a few quick 1 hour hunts until then.

I need advice on a cheapish, less than 50 bucks, ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. If you have personal experience with one please point me to where you got yours. Walmart has several made by Haier. Reviews on line for them run 50/50. Opinions?

Except for the bugs.

Chris

I bought a lamp that clips to the bill of a ballcap. Light anf bright.

I bought a ultrasonic cleaner at Walmart. I was told they would clean coins...........NOT. I ran it for hours with a black Barber dime but it didn't touch it. It cleaned gold and silver jewelry good like it was supposed to.

I have an article pending with Western & Eastern Treasures on cleaning coins with ultrasonic machines. Only trouble is, the copy is on my lap top computor which is out getting repaired. :(

Looks like a good amount of coins. You did well.:clapping:
