The video explains how Minelab uses real soil conditions to maximize their detector's performance.

And a bit more explanation from Minelab. http://www.minelab.com/go-minelabbing/treasure-talk/in-the-ground-is-where-detecting-really-counts

Thanks Randy, interesting video.. Looks just like the set up I have at home for testing my detector... Yeah right...

What about that rod the guy was holding around the 3:27 point

just goes to show what writing a blog can get you, free detectors and a minelab shirt good on ya Marcos, but I guess the trade off is you cant be seen using other brand detectors price to pay for everything I guess.

what worries me is what happens when the no detect rules in parks take affect in Australia and no one can detect public parks minelab might not suffer to much but are they doing anything to lobby and inform governments or is it all take??

I was told all parks in my local council area, detecting is banned it hasn't stopped me but the big freeze is coming and when it slaps us all up the side of the head and our gear is worthless will minelab use that nice truck I helped pay for to go work hard on getting us back in the parks??

this might not sound nice and fluffy but the day is coming, and as a single person I can not do much so I do hope company's like minelab are using some of that profit to help its profit providers , me and everyone else who pays top $ for their product.

great video and like what they do but lets see some real stuff on keeping the hobby viable, even if minelab get in and talk with members of parliament from the shooters and recreation party to educate and lobby for us then that's helping whether we like it or not its cash that talks and I would think by the looks of the set up there they have some so how bout it minelab look after your buyers with some of that profit. in helping protect or hobby by educating law makers and lobbying on our behalf.

people think it wont happen to them syndrome, and like everyone with this syndrome some pre thought and action could have saved the unwanted outcome , but we wander around head in the clouds and wham hit by a truck.

just throwing it out there as to what these big company's are doing to better our sport??

the fluffy ad's are nice but they do not help me or you they are just ad's or self promotion nothing more nothing less.

don't say you were not warned.
