Another hunt at one of the city parks.

Nice day here, heck I'm behind at the farm and the boss says take the day off and go metal detecting. These old city parks are in rough neighborhoods. My wife reminds me not to forget my cell phone and be careful.Anyway after a couple of hours hunt at this park only 5 wheat's and a good for 5 cents off token I called it a day and packed my equipment into the Jeep. The guys in the hood were playing horse shoes. The shoe were clanging and players were trying to make each other choke. This time it was different I was curious to see how well these gentlemen played horse shoes.I just got there as the game ended and one of the players said I have noticed you here metal detecting a few times, did you find anything.I explained my finds today were only a few wheat's but, there are some old coins in this park yet to be found.Yo man you play horse shoes you can take my spot! I agreed for a quick game of eleven points with the winner.Anyway my challenger threw first, the shoe flipping quite a bit before hitting next to the stake. His second throw about the same.My first throw one flip and the open ends of the shoe floating in the air for my ringer. My second throw same but too high and a near miss.Near the end of the game it was 6 to 10 with his lead. His last throw the pit was wide open and I explained it was time to end this ugly game, two ringers will give me the game.He looked at me like I was not serious. Both throws one flip with the open ends floating to the stakes for ringers.Afterward we shook hands and I thanked him for the invite. He said what's your name and I said Ron he said his name was Ron also_Oh he did say anytime your metal detecting here you are welcome to play.By the way when I was in the Air Force I played horse shoes so much for my going away gift the section gave me a set of horse shoes.HH Ron
