Along with detecting I have a large model railroad in my basement so you know I like trains. This year we here in michigan had the treat to have an old steam engine come through town on the way to steam fest.
Heres a few pictures of SP 4449 as it went by

Seeing the Steam Engine going through your town sure added to the pleasure of your model railroad hobby! Nice pics! God Bless! Betty

If you ever get to Shartlesville Pa. check out Roadside America. Anyone who likes model trains would love it. I went there a number of times a a young boy and always loved it. Last month I had the pleasure of taking my five year old son and two year old daughter (along with my wife) to see it and got to relive the thrill of seeing it for the first time all over again through their eyes. It is one of those things that has to be seen to be appreciated.

I can still remember riding the 'Chieftan' from Grand Rapids to Chicago & from Chicago to Callifornia. Wow! I'd love to do it again someday.

I have never road on a train, and we have train rides 30 minutes from our house. WE also have a dinner train about 45 minutes from us. Some day I ammmmm riding one.

Nice looking trains. I grew up a half block from the train tracks back in Illinois and love to watch the old trains come through. Even enjoyed the hobos stopping by the neighbors for a meal. We have a volunteer railroad here in Connersville, and sometimes they bring some old steam locomotives in town. They have some sitting on the side rails. They plan on restoring them when the funds become available.
