Another headphone question!!!

So I love my Nox and love that it’s waterproof. I’m predominately a dirt hunter, but it allows me to keep on detecting when the rain starts coming down.

I also like the stock Bluetooth headphones that come standard with the 800, they work really well for me. The only thing is they’re not waterproof, so when it does start to rain, I either stop detecting or continue without headphones.

I don’t want to go the earbud route. And I don’t want to use the WM module for aftermarket ‘phones.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, thought I’d ask here first, what do you clever guys and gals do when it starts raining and the coins are still poppin?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
like Steve G I keep a lightweight waterproof hooded parka in the car for when it rains. I actually really like the WM08 module a lot for wired ear buds or back of the neck headphones in the summer or rain with a weatherproof brimmed hat.

When it rains lightly, I don't worry too much about it. When it rains heavier, a rain coat with a hood will protect them...

I do like steve and jeff do. Light sprinkle is not a concern to me. More than that? Just flip a hood over the head IF it is needed. If I'm hunting urban grass areas and things start turning into a muddy mess, I consider the location and wait out the rain OR come back another time. If I'm out in the wilds, rain jacket and keep on hunting.

I try to keep the detector free of mud. And I wipe down when I get back to the car/truck. I have a Deanos cover for my 800 to minimize mud on the screen and scratching etc.

It is NICE not to worry about the rain damaging my detector. I always worried about this with my Etrac and Explorer XS.
