A civil war button which in very exited about since i live in northen Illinois.
 
Insane ! I know nothing about buttons but that one looks like it's in great cond. and the design is beautiful. Nice job.

That's a very nice button. Is there anything on the back? Maker ie. Waterbury, Scovill? Can you post a picture? That's a great find. And also the 16 Merc. Is there a mint mark? I'm so jealous! But then I'm so happy that you're out there finding things. Good going and HH, Nancy
 
No maker markings on the Button and the merc is a 1916s dime,i wish it was a D instead LOL. Thanks Nancy,I will be out everyday if i can,i get super muddy and wet but its worth it to me.

That button is definitely a keeper even if there's no writing. Are you sure? :confused: If you have any 3 in one oil[attachment 155192 3inOneOil.jpg] Try soaking it in it over night or so and see if there's anything on the back. Still a cool find. HH, Nancy
