Another Great Lost & Found Story at the Beach

Hit the beach today at 10am and worked it hard until 3pm. First thing at 10am, I found a neat looking ring. It is very polished, could be stailess, titanium. Low Tide Tim took a peek and said it could even be a custom made white gold. I'll have to get it checked. I also found another small steel bracelet, and a pair of sunglasses. The day rounded out with a small heart shaped ring and a nice looking silver earring with 17 CZ's. I also found a nitro ring, very corroded with 21 small CZ's. The NEAT story is below about the badge case.

I was in the surf at 32nd St when this black police badge case comes rolling by and stops right at my feet. Weird. I'm a cop and a badge case stops right in front of me. The badge is missing but the badge case/wallet has a Federal Police ID, drivers license, credit cards, debit cards, Army Guard ID, USAA insurance ID. The full bundle but no badge. I stick it in my bag and keep on trucking. 4 hours later at 26th St, 6 blocks away, while heading back to the truck, I get this blast of a signal and go down 2 scoops and out pops this guys badge. I can't believe it.

I get to my truck, and being a a retired Naval Reserve Commander with USAA insurance, I call USAA. I tell the guy at USAA, "You ain't gonna believe this but I found a badge, wallet, ID, credit cards, etc. belonging to a USAA member. Could you contact him and let him know I have his lost credentials?" He did one better. He called his cell phone, got him in his car, on the road from Va Beach back to New York, and bridged me on with him. I asked him if he lost anything in Va Beach and he told me he lost his badge case, badge, the works. I explained that I had it in had and that everything was intact. I can't tell you how happy this guy was.

He is due to call me this evening so we can make delivery arrangements.

Happy Hunting!!

Wow...what an amazing turn of events. Well, you sure have some good karma coming your way. Finding that badge was about as likely as Max finding the same crematory tag 3 times, huh? Still haven't figured out what THAT means yet! :spin:
