Got out for a couple of hours at my local park again and had some good luck. Got a very solid 12-15 signal that was showing pretty deep. Ended up recovering a pretty toasted 1887 Liberty Head Nickel at 8 inches. I was impressed that the E-Trac gave such a solid signal on such a deep nickel. I then dug up a 1906 Indian at only two inches. The next signal gave me a nice solid signal but read 24-14. I figured it may be a nickel with some iron in the hole and after digging down 6 inches pulled out a rusty iron nail that was sitting directly on top of a Buffalo nickel. You can see the iron stain on the nickel where the nail sat on it.
I was losing daylight but wanted to dig one last target. Glad I did as I got a pretty deep 12-42 signal so I dug down hoping to get an old wheat. Dug down 6-7 inches in the concrete like soil and it finally came out in the last scoop. Really shocked me as it was not the wheatie I was expecting but something big and round about the size of a half dollar. Turned out to be an 1870 International Harvester horse drawn spreaders advertising medal! Love the slogan on it "Rich Soil Less Toil". I also included a couple of pictures of a non-dug example so you can see the detail better. Awesome find and a great evening out with the E-Trac..
