Another Great Day In Delaware

Another stellar day in lower Sussex. Got a King George Copper, no date and haven't tried to ID it yet. Can see a bust facing right I think. Pulled two Indian heads, a 1864 and a 1883. I think I can see the "L" on the 1864 but can't be sure. Also got '40 Wheat and a couple buttons. One is an Eagle button, the other I'm still trying to ID. The icing is the Shield Nickel. It's an 1866 with rays in pretty good shape. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Sweet shield!

Nice stuff - love digging those oldies - especially the shield nics!

Great finds! I would love to find something from anytime in the 1800's and earlier of course, still putting in my newbie dues but sure enjoy seeing your cool coin finds! HH!

I'm being told my large copper is a William III or a William & Mary. Possibly from the late 1600's. Going to try to research it more tonight.

Just an update; The large copper is actually a King William III and Mary II, 1694. Awesome! My oldest colonial copper.

Nice finds, another way of telling if the 1864 is a L is by looking at the tip of the bust if it more pointed than rounded it is the L.

Yeah, I can't see the "L". I see in the Red Book where they say that but I'm not sure what they're referring to when they say the "tip of the bust". Anybody know what that's all about?

Boy You are Hot SM....beach season is almost here. Hope to see you in OC...

Yeah... Nice finds. I like the Indian heads.

Thanks Joe, shoot me a PM when you get over this way. We'll get together for a beach hunt.
