Another good hunt and a surprise

Met a buddy at the city park for another quick hunt last night. I got what I was sure was going to be another good old coin and had my buddy check it, as usual, with his E-Trac. I was surprised to him him call it junk. He said it broke up and "sounded like the junk he finds". On my CTX it sound good and pretty solid at 8-9". He was very surprised when I pulled out a 1944 merc. There was some junk on two sides about 6" away.

Nice - I found a deep merc with the CTX the other day within a few feet of plugs dug earlier in the week by a couple E-Trac drivers that I know. It was very feint, but repeatable and solid. There was trash close by as well. I chalked it up to the faster processor speed.

That's one of the CTX's strong points :clapping: I have dug nice finds out of a junk hole more times than I can count.
