Another gold for the TDI

Not a bad looking little ring. 13 stones set in whith gold bordered by 2 bands of yellow gold.

Is it not illegal to MD in Ireland anymore? Or is that just for relics?

It was never illegal to use a detector in Ireland. However it is illegal to intentionally hunt for archaeological objects with a detector or by any other means without a licence to do so. Problem is only archaeologists on recognised digs will be granted a licence. Shooting for modern coins and jewellery is completely legal.

Same thing is in most EU countries ... France and Germany ...
but how can you dig beach in Normandy or wood in Germany - and search only for coins.

Yes that's true, you don't know what you will dig up but the big thing is your intent. If you intentionally are looking for archaeological objects you are breaking the laws. Another thing is all archaeological objects are the property of the Irish state, if you find one you have 48 hours to report it and the state will take all objects.

Thanks for the explanation! I want to go to Ireland some day and bring my machine! I'm enjoying your videos
