Well, got up and read the Forums for inspiration and tips...and then hit the beach! Long walk in made for a short hunt on account of I'm not in shape yet this season...
Hit two beaches with paltry finds..did get a Sac Dollar coin though, so thats good..

The Pro bangs right through the black sand layers, its just that the signal is no good and the TIDS are not trustworthy, so a guy has to go by size of target and then just start digging..once a guy gets a few layers down, the signal will sort of straighten out, yet a lot of the Nickels were high pinging...some of the Zincs too...no matter...on the beach a guy has to go after any and all signals within reason...no trash finds except a zipper pull and a small blob of melted aluminum...

I was confident on gold on account of getting the nickels and the zipper pull..I was running Pro Zero, 40 disc, 2 clicks down from full power, sweeping over the ice even and scored some targets underneath...figure I had 10-12" of good depth even at those settings.....came across a set of bare Human woman footprints...somebody was out barefoot yesterday...big wind and rain and waves onshore...the remaining ice floes helped block them a bit...You can see in the photos, I run the coil wire straight up the shaft, got rid of both camlocks, have the lower rod all the way extended..Blue headphones,... this is my AtPro beach/wading rig! ..

You are doing good Mr Mud. There is going to be gold for you. You are digging ample targets in the gold band or class ring range. :beers: HH jim tn

Still looks like winter up that Mr Mudpuppy ....

"Hey Mud, what are you using for those couch sores ? Atrophy of the legs. Knees a little wobbly? Spring training can be tough. I find it is easier to leave pants unbuttoned in order to bend over.
But be careful, those tracks got to be made by a female Yeti, known to be running around upere !
