Hit the same section of forest that I hunted yesterday, only mother nature flavored up the hunt with some snow. It stayed just below zero, and with the help of my framers' hammer, I was able to punch through the frozen top layer of frost. My ACE 250/Sniper Coil got a 22 shell, and the GTP 1350 got the rest of the finds. My first over-load signal was another toy gun. I carefully dug it up with my Lesche Digger only to discover it wasn't completely intact. Oh well, it did get my ticker ticking a bit faster for a moment. I also got some pennies, a loonie and some misc things. It's just nice to get outside :)

Well, the north wind was starting to bite after a couple of hours, so I made my way back home. Here's a shot of Edmonton's skyline at sunset.

John you are my hero. I live in Colorado and stopped hunting today cause it was 30 degrees out. I was getting signels but the groud was frozen a few inches. I'm going to have to rethink this sport.

Try the straight clawed carpenter's hammer or a brick layers hammer. And if you have a Lesche...that's a bonus too!

Yeah it's 29 and breezy here. I'm rethinking the sport in front of the fire. I can handle the cold but not that wind whistling down out of the Columbia Gorge, plus I hate wind.

Ok John I'll try the hammer but then can you tell me where to buy a donkey as I'm getting so many tools and stuff I can't move, thats why I tryed to get my wife interested in the sport but she saw right through me.

My problem is that I leave tools behind and don't notice it until later on. One good carpenters hammer, one cellphone, pair of prescription glasses, 3 screwdrivers, and a digger which are all lost somewhere on this planet. You would figure an experienced guy with a metal detector would find them after a search....No such luck :(
