stick with that sov. learn it and you will be rewarded, the year has brough some firsts for me so far,the expercienced users said to stick with it and the finds would only get better........thats the best advice, dont be discouraged each time out is a new oppurtunity to learn something about your machine ,and you should really take is as such dont get frustrated just be paitent and keep working at it.......Thanks Rick ND......yesterday was a special day for me and this coin is one I will never forget........1861 seated quarter found with the Sov. elite and 8 inch coinsearch coil.............

Adam....So how do you like that coinsearch compared to the newer coils? What difference do you see in it?
Just curious.
Rusty, in Chicago.

I am of the belief that for coin hunting the coinsearch is the way to go,its deep and seems to have a ''fatter'' tone cycle ...I guess what Iam trying to say is that targets seem to stay alive under the coil for a longer period than other coils, same sweep speed different coil the tone is already fading before you finish the sweep the coin search stays juicy for a spilt second longer therfore alowwing you to hear slight wispers better and it smokes out any lose clad loud and clear. It is not waterproof and thats the knock,if it is one.....take care ............

sand and shallow waves.................never had any problems with water

i cracked the right ear off of mine ..............repaired, just resting now...........got S12

Congrats! The Sov is really something. With several years of hunting with other machines I've found no more than 4-5 silver coins but I added 30+ more silver the year I bought my Sov.
A good detector coupled with tips from the Sov guru - RickND gives great results! Thanks RickND for all the tips on the Sov...still read all your posts in the detecting forums.

Good to hear you got one of those seated quarters, mine I keep missing. I know I have found over 20 seated dimes, but no seated quarters yet.
I have been watching you on the forums and it sure looked like you have the patience for the Sovereign and I bet it is getting easier to tell the good from the bad too isn't it??

Good find and hope I can see you posting more good finds.

Rick

Myself I find the Coinsearch coil is the easiest to learn the Sovereign with as the tone will seem to be bigger and easier to learn.

Rick

I still chuckle when I think about the begining, and wondered why I didnt get silver like everyone else seemed to ...I know now that in the begining I woulda passed a six in silver dime and never heard a peep........and I remember I thought was going slow enough to find good targets:rofl: . I still gotta tell myself to slow down half the time...........Take care, this is still a good fourm...........:yo::yo:
