Hunted at my favorite freshwater beach today. Only this wasn't actually on the beach...just a little higher up. The lake is at an all time low, so where I found it may have been close to normal level. It's hard saying. Anyway, this lake was built the same year as this coin....1944! And, it happens to be one of my favorite coins. I've found other silver "things", but this is my first silver coin! And she's purty, too! It was about 2" deep and rang a solid, unwavering 90. I found a couple other coins in the same 5' area, but the flies and mosquitos were eating me alive! I'll definitely be back!

Wow! That was a fresh drop..back in 1944 or shortly thereafter! For a first silver coin, that one would be hard to top! We all remember our "first silver" right where we found it, and all that...thanks for sharing your rush with us today! Awesome!:beers:
Mud

Mud, I must confess, if it wasn't for your advice, I wouldn't have gone to this particular spot. But I've heard you mention watch the people, and learn their habits. Last Sunday, I saw 5 guys walk way down to this spot and disappear. Every now and then you'd see one or two of them. I thought maybe they were changing clothes or something. Then I thought, that's probably ALWAYS been a spot for people to gather. So I went there and checked! I found about 3 coins there in a matter of a minute. And when that Pro dinged a high 90, and never quivered, I just KNEW it was something good! Thanks for ALL your advice, kind sir!

One of the most beautiful Silver coins made I think,

Sweet Beach find!!

Awesome finds! Congrats!!

Thanks ya'll! I'm down in my back right now, and have my vacation coming up in one week. I HAVE to get better before then. I have 5 days scheduled for beautiful Port Aransas, and I'm sure there's some goodies on the beach waiting for me!

Found one of them once (not as nice as yours) Mounted it on front of my fishing, boat. Sorta like the gals mounted on those old time sailing ships.

I bet that was neat! I'm still carrying this one, lol. I've adopted it as my new lucky coin. Eh, on second thought, I better put it up before I lose it...I'm bad about that.
