Hey, nice find, I found my first dollar coin about 3 weeks ago and I have been detecting for 30 years. Nice to see someone so close to me posting in the forum, I'm in Longview.

don98632,
Glad to see someone lives close by. i'm in the lexington area. been hitting riverside prk. for the last six months learning my machines. would like some company. am retired and dirtfish like i trout fish. only on non-rainy days.
i've noticed signs of others in the park. have spoke to only three others who say they have machine. one w/ garrett, one w/ whites ?? and one with bounty hunter. haven't actually seen anyone detecting. saw one fellow walking down westside hwy with a detector over his shoulder. didn't see what it was. he was heading for the park though.let us break toast over milk or eggs. maybe at shari's?

Ohio fred,
does it count i found a penny spill? so far i've have pulled out 40+ coins from this one spill. the area is about three foot square. had a couple of dimes with it. had to leave some there. time came for meds and food. at least three more signals were coming from the same spot. found most with my pin pointer after the first find. value wasn't there but was loads of fun.
and it gives me an excuse to return. this was found two days ago. my dollar find was yesterday and today i just walked the dogs and spoke with the park maint. guy. got a lot more history and viewed two old pics of the park decades apart from each other.

Coins are coins widebody ! They might not be very valuable but they sure beat pulltabs, bottlecaps & can slaw. Nice work on your site investigation. That sure pay off for you in older and better targets before too long. Good luck.

Sounds to me like you are having WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to much fun. Congrats on the find.

Them dollar coins are heart stoppers until you get em out of the dirt...Still, a dollar is a dollar...That's an hours worth of digging for me...lol

HH,

diffently skipped a few beats. was still excited till i looked it up and found the indians were srewed again. at least the presidents of her time were done in silver. they didn't even put that in her dollar. but i'm very happy i found it. woundn't mind finding a ben now or a kennedy half. not asking too much. just all of it right now. before the world ends. even if it doesn't.
