Ive been hunting beside an old railroad track and beleave me you cant get a trasher area. What i found is if i drop a quarter on the ground using a disc pattern most of the time ill not hear the target. However, if i open up the disc and only disc out nails and use fast recovery its much easier to hear the quarter.

1) Turn on EX II
2)Go to Advanced.
3) Press the DETECT button until you get to the ADVANCED - LEARN screen.
4) Press the top right button. This will Darken the entire screen.
5) Press the DETECT Button again, and this will take you to the ADVANCED - EDIT.
6) The top Left button will let you choose the size of the area you want to open to for detecting.
7) Press it until you see the largest rectangle.
Note the box is still black. Leave it like this until you move the box where you want it. Use the Left and Right and Up and Down buttons to put the Rectangle where you want it.
9) Move the Rectangle to the Top Right.
10) Now Press the middle button on the left side until the rectangle turns to White you will see a Check in the box. You can move the White rectangle and make it bigger now it you want.
11) Repeat the same procedure for the small box at the bottom, using the above information.
12) When done press the Detect button again and this will take you to the ADVANCED - SMART Screen. Noise test and your ready to go.
