Another day at the races:ausflag:

Geoff and I had another day at the old racecourse yesterday. Although we've hit it hard the last four or five trips it still managed to produce coins. Have attached photo of Geoffs finds uncleaned, mostly 1800's English threepence and sixpence. I managed about $20 in decimals and a few English and pre decimal coins including a Florin and well worn 1817 half crown. Thanks for looking.............................Ken.:clapping:

Nice finds..My dad owns property in southern Indiana that was once a saddle club in the 50's and 60's. I"m waiting until late fall to hunt it so that the weeds and ticks are down..Larry (The Palm Bay Pirate)

Great finds Ken! I love the old 1817 half crown! How's the weather treating you over there! It's been pouring rain here, but the weather is warming up. Can't wait to hit the beaches again with the Excal!
Golden.

A lot of nice coinage there. Looks like a great hunting place and you did well!

Bob

I wish. No rain here. I live in southern NSW. Ground is now like concrete and we haven't got into summer yet. Wish you well with the beaches................Ken.

Best of luck with the saddle club. Geoff and I have had a great time at the racecourse. The site is on private property, over 100 years old and still being used annually and had never been detected. We have over 150 silver English and Australian pre decimal coins between us. We've certainly been over the best of it but I think there's still the odd one to find yet..........................Ken

Gosh, Ken, I haven't been on the forum in so long, I almost forgot all the great stuff and really old coins you usually find. Wow, what an inspiration, and the fact that you constantly seem to find that stuff, tells me your certainly on the right track in my book at least. Marc Trainor.
