Went to one of my favorite lakes today and it was another success story. I have in my possession saved from the bottom of the lake a very heavy man's white gold or platinum ring with a big green stone in it. The stone is etched with an emblem from a country club. I have NO idea what the club is at this time and will research it. NO markings at all inside the ring. A silver ring, a gold plated ring and a 1909 Barber dime, a 1920 Buffalo and a 1937 merc were the rest of my good finds.

Other interesting finds was the brass baseball. Inscribed on the side is U of D Champions 1938. Was probably gold plated at one time. Four brass lipstick tubes and some old brass swimsuit buckles and the whistle were about all my good finds. Except for a 10lb anchor that also followed me home.

Can't have the ring checked till Monday. RATS. It was a shock to pull that out of this spot because of how many times I have hammered it. However, tons and tons of bolts and nuts and nails on this drop-off and I pull a lot of great things out after I clear off some of the trash. There is a large air compressor from a commercial refrigerator or freezer I am thinking about bringing out and a whole lot of other big trash on this drop-off. Pipes and chains and beams from the old dock. Some of the stuff is buried so deep I will never get it unless I come up with different plans.

Coral was found in Okinawa where I learned to dive in early 1980. I am still in Michigan!!

Way to go Bob, I love the variety of stuff you find. Hope your ring is platinum. Larry 'aka' NGE

Looks like people used to go swimming with their pants on LOL. Nice bunch of buckles and lip stick containers. I prefer relics to coins any day. Just figuring out what they are is fun.

Your killing the treasure Scuba..Great job on all your treasures hunts the past few months, very Kewl.........

Wow , that ring is bad-ass ! I'm gonna guess the ring is white gold. Looks old , and I'm guessing ( not sure ) using platinum for jewelry wasn't very common until the last few decades. Feel free to bash me if I'm wrong. LOL. Very nice either way !

That sure looks like an old timer of a ring SD!!

Great find you recovered there Friend!!

Just remember, every time you find a ring, that's one less for you to find!!

Where I hunt I am lucky to find a nice ring once in ten hunts these days where I used to find (in the 80s) lots more.

I even had two six ring hunts of less than three hours!!

I was told by my jeweler that one and the one with 3 rubies in it is also 14K and they are super old. She said the cut on the rubies is a strange oval one and quite different.

Now to find what country clubs emblem is on the top of it!!

Did your jeweler mention the words " Old Mine Cut " if so, the stones will be flat instead of pointed on the bottoms. And I believe that would date it to around the mid to late 1800's. I got a 7.8g ~ .925 smashed ring out of a ball diamond yesterday........NGE
