Another Beach Hunting Question..

I was out today at the beach here in Jacksonville with my 18" boots on and the Sea Hunter There were these deeper waterways or channels leading to the waterline were the water funneled back to the ocean. Should I be hunting these "cuts" when I find them? They are about 10" or so deeper than the surf. The current runs swifter in these channels and these are the only "cuts' I see at the beach here in the winter time. We have not had any rough surf lately.

I hunted at low tide for about 2 hours at ankle to knee deep in the surf, but only hit 4 signals and came up with zero ! Good exercise, but no treasures except one penny. Thanks. EZ

Hunt all cuts, and the little water way watch your tides and you will notice that the current slows down at times. that is the time to hunt these water way.shollow passes people cross them and lose all kinds of jewlery. HH Ron some were in FLA.

If you see ANY cuts in the sand you should aways hunt them even if its only a few inchs deeper then the other sand,Gold is heavy and sinks
down to the harder clay/sand/gravel were it will stay until waves move the sand and sometimes the gold if the waves are big enough,if not it will sit there and very slowly sink into the harder area,So any time you can get closer to that hard packed area your chances go UP of finding gold,Plus
for the time spent hunting that cut will be the best time spent detecting as the cut will be gone the next high tide,The same gos for any cut you see on the beach if the sand is cut back, hunt from the cut sand down to the water in a zig zag as you work down the beachsometimes you will find an area in the cut were you find most of the targets(it might be ten feet up the beach from the water or two feet down from the top of the cut) work that area down the beach even with the water/sand till you run out of targets or out of the cut then turn around and go over it again and listen for
the deeper targets this time, you will find better targets and will be suprised at what you missed the first time !!!! good luck hope this helps you newbies and some old timers too lol

Deerman and all others that posted. Many thanks.... EZ
